The Sample Foundation is a private family foundation with a mission to provide grants
to non-profit organizations in the areas of health, social welfare and services for
                  underserved populations in Montana.

Funding is limited to include the purchase of equipment and building projects
relating to the Sample Foundation’s mission and geographic area. We do not fund
capital campaigns, religious organizations, individual artists, or operating
expenses which include salaries, supplies, gas and subscriptions.

                  History
John Glen Sample and Helen S. Sample had the vision to establish the Sample
Foundation as a way to promote broad philanthropic objectives through grants and
investments in the areas of health, social welfare and services in 1954. The first
foundation office was located in Collier County, Florida and in 1977, the office was
                    relocated to Billings, Montana.

For over 70 years, members of the Sample family have continued the Foundation’s legacy,
serving as volunteer Trustees with the responsibility of reviewing and approving grant
                    awards each year. |
